The voting date for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) remaining flagbearer candidates has been changed.

Just a day after Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen withdrew from the campaign, this choice was made.

The election committee pondered on the four candidates’ ideas while speaking with them and their representatives.

The meeting concluded without a decision following these private discussions, therefore the vote was postponed.

Alexander Afenyo Markin, a spokesman for the committee, stated that the party’s rules will be followed in the conduct of the election on November 4.

He did not, however, go into detail about the specific topics that were discussed.

“We have agreed to proceed with the guidelines. And like I said, when we are done, we will again serve you notice of the guidelines and soon thereafter we will proceed with the balloting,” he said.

The worries expressed by Alan in his letter on Tuesday night were crucial among the queries asked by the media.

Mr. Afenyo Markin stated that the committee is awaiting further information from his team to support his claims.

The committee forbade the candidates from speaking to the media in the meantime.

It’s interesting to note that one of the candidates, Kennedy Agyapong, left by a separate entrance to avoid being photographed by the media.

These and other elements suggest that this encounter and its effects will be clouded by tension.

According to Samuel Mbura of JoyNews, the committee spokesman cut off a prior conversation with a member of Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto’s campaign since it had been agreed not to do so.
